“The department I’m in really had to ramp up telehealth, train people to do what they’ve never done before via video. I’m in a specialty that is very hands-on so it was [interesting] trying to figure out how do you adapt your practice to be interacting with a patient or a family member via telehealth.”
Interview highlight:
“Previously, all my patient care was face-to-face. We take care of patients with disabilities so it was really important that they could still have the care. The department I’m in really had to ramp up telehealth, train people to do what they’ve never done before via video. I’m in a specialty that is very hands-on so it was [interesting] trying to figure out how do you adapt your practice to be interacting with a patient or a family member via telehealth without being able to actually touch the patient and get all the information that that provides you. A lot of what I do has to do with muscle spasticity, it’s hard to test that without feeling it.”
